Blended reality - HP is taking a step in that direction

Picture of HP Sprout  A few days ago HP announced a new addition to their line up, the Sprout.  Much like last week's post about Carvey, this new technology looks to revolutionize the way you create with your computer.  The video on HP's official site has some cool demos at the end of it but this mashable post has a good hands on run down of what it's like.  It definitely has the potential to revolutionize the way we create and interact, especially as 3D printers become more common place.  With it's ability to scan 3D objects the Sprout can be used to take digital backups of actual physical items which can then be printed by your 3D printer when needed.  You can imagine all the possibilities this opens up for creativity and basic projects.  Did a a part break on a toy or device?  Just take a 3D image and print it out and your back in business!  Want to create some cool marketing material?  Scan, your idea into life without having to be an amazing artist!  The possibility and potential is cool to ponder. Want Bellingham IT blog updates to hit your email?
